Dime Magazine, the basketball lifestyle authority, is all over this adizero Crazy Light II, and in the above video co-founder Josh Gotthelf explains why. It starts with the overall look of the shoe, which Gotthelf says signals a real ballplayer, with bold color and sleek construction that match the confidence and swagger elite players carry wherever they go.

The shoe’s SPRINTWEB technology has allowed for the reduced weight (only 9.5. ounces), but also makes for a snug fit against the player’s foot, which is crucial in-game. The original incorporation of adidas’s classic three-stripe signature around the ankle makes the shoe fashionable enough to wear off the court—and if you’re looking to turn some heads, you can’t beat the Electric colorway shown at the end.
