Half of the sneaker game is knowing what kicks are out when, and which shops have them. Our Shelf Space column looks at what shops around the country are stocking in a given week and gives a quick glimpse into the mind of the store owner who put them there.

This week, we checked in with P-Rod's Primitive Shoes down in Encino, CA. Andy Netkin, CEO of Primitive, took us through 10 of the store's hottest sneakers and spoke to us about each one. Hit the jump to see Andy's picks and a few bonus pics courtesy of Herman Jiminez, Roxanne Bixler, and Elizabeth Clarizio. If you are in the Encino area, be sure to stop by Primitive, located at 17060 Ventura Blvd.

Vans x Acapulco Gold - Moda High, $79.99
"This silhouette is the Moda Hi, a fusion of the SK8-Hi and Mountain Edition Hi. New York's Acapulco Gold brings a classic design approach with this green/gray/white colorway. I've heard that this was inspired by the Adidas Rod Laver, but haven't confirmed. The upper is made of suede/leather, with accents like embossed logos, boot-style laces, and white mesh."
