Seeing as the game's first shoes were comprised of pretty much just canvas and a sole — what up, Pistol Pete? — it's not all that crazy that brands are returning to their roots in manufacturing lighter basketball kicks. adidas is poised to raise the bar yet another notch later today as they are to introduce the lightest shoe in basketball — the adiZero Crazy Light. Appropriately dubbed, the model weighs just a mere 9.8 ounces — to aid in the whole fast don't lie theme. Set to drop June 3 and retail for $130, you can expect Derrick Rose and the rest of the adi-crew to be rockin' em during playoff time. Oh, and look forward to the Barefoot Basketball League in 2014. Tune in to adidas' live-stream unveiling via Facebook, at 3pm.
