They say that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. It happens a lot. So often, in fact, that we like to ask our readers "Who did it better?" from time to time when we see a new release that closely resembles something we've seen before.
Last Friday, Ronnie Fieg dropped his latest rendition of the Asics Gel Lyte III, "The Coves." The colorway pop is crazy, something we don't get to see too often as a main color-block. Earlier this summer, New Balance released its "Sonic Brights Pack," a series of 574s that play with a neon color palette, including a pair with a similar electric-blue steez. What silhouette holds the super-bright colorway the best? Check detailed images after the jump and let us know who did it better?

New Balance Bright pack was announced in June. So, it's not a imitation of The Cove's, but The Cove kills the NB one. Especially in the material department. The color on the NB doesn't even come close to The Coves either. The Brights looks like a baby blue. Both still nice in their own way though. If I had to choose one, it would obviously be the RF Asics.

Honestly, I hope the NB's win....i might seem like a hater but in all actuality if the New Balances win (when they shouldn't at all!!!) then my boy Ronnie Fieg will come out with something even FRESHER which right now seems impossible. But he'll find a way and when he does, you better be ready cuz its gonna fly off the shelves like condoms on prom nite baby!!!!

asics gets my vote. NB 574s are too wide for flat feet folks. GL3s are slimmer/sleaker and cleaner.
