The 50 Greatest Air Max 90s of All Time

AM 90 "XI" Patent/White

Year: 2001

In 2001, there weren't "colorway takedowns," so calling these the "XI"s might have read way too much into things. It was a plain variation from the model's reintroduction, but with the patent gray side panels and ice sole, and the fact that the cool gray Jordan XIs had dropped a few months prior, it was hard not to acknowledge the relationship. Perhaps these were a dry run for pieces like the Jordan Max that Wale was wearing recently? Ha. We're sure design teams would like to claim they work that far out.
