"I don't love every single Jordan that comes out. I'm pretty selective in the ones I buy, but compared to the first few that came out, this one was quite futuristic. It had the 3M completely reflective tongue and I think it was inspired by old-school fighter jet, it has the flames on the side. The whole looking like a jet was amazing. My favorite part was the clear bottom that showed the Jumpman through it. I have a stupid story: When these came out I went on a family trip to Hawaii. I only brought these shoes, so I'm all proud of rocking my Jordan Vs. One day my mom is like, 'O.K., today we're going to go to this Polynesian beach that has like lava sand on it, like black sand.' And I have these clear-bottom mint, Jordan V's and I'm like, 'There's no fucking way I'm going to the beach with these.' My mom made me go, so the genius that I am, I asked the hotel for clear packing tape and I put it on the bottom to protect them, not knowing that the beach was like 120 degrees. So the sand ended up melting the bottom of the tape onto the shoes. It was the worst."
