"The reason why this shoe is important is because it was the AJ III that really turned me into a fanatic and a fiend for sneakers. These were revolutionary-looking shoes with the elephant cement and the back plastic plate. They were crazy ass shoes. I vividly remember wearing these into my Social Studies class, I remember I was one of the last kids to walk into class, and I remember everyone, including the teacher, turning to me and looking down at my feet. That feeling was amazing. It was the original neck-snapping, their heads all collapsed. From this point on, the feeling was addictive, and everything that I put on my feet had to snap necks. The Air Jordan III was the first shoe that did that for me. That was my first toke of the crack pipe."
