What are the best sneakers of 2009? To answer this question, we assembled a panel of sneaker experts, including Matt Halfhill (founder of NiceKicks.com), DJ Clark Kent (God's favorite DJ), Mayor (AF1 King), Chris Vidal (ALIFE Manager), and Wil Whitney (head coach of 21 Mercer and founder of Nom de Guerre). Last week, each expert shared their personal Top 10, and now everyone is coming together to determine the official Top 10 Sneakers of 2009. We even caught the whole debate on video.
The Foamposite definitely isn't new (perhaps you remember them from Elementary school), but 2009 brought on the Eggplant-ization of the classic silhouette. Nike took the color from the Flightposite and brought it to the shoe, making it into something the industry might refer to as "hot fire". After causing crazy lineups for the general release, the Eggplant Foams had people beyond the D.C. area going nuts for this silo. Had to go get those Pearls after the Eggplants opened the door!
