What are the best sneakers of 2009? To answer this question, we assembled a panel of sneaker experts, including Matt Halfhill (founder of NiceKicks.com), DJ Clark Kent (God's favorite DJ), Mayor (AF1 King), Chris Vidal (ALIFE Manager), and Wil Whitney (head coach of 21 Mercer and founder of Nom de Guerre). Last week, each expert shared their personal Top 10, and now everyone is coming together to determine the official Top 10 Sneakers of 2009. We even caught the whole debate on video.

When it comes to classic Jordan releases, the Jordan Retro III "True Blue" is high on most people's "best of all time" lists. In 2009, those who either passed on the 2001 retro version or who didn't have the money at the time got another crack at copping the standout colorway. The True Blue III was a standout this year because the shoes weren't available in the United States, making it tougher to get 'em and bringing back the hunt. Although the majority of the panel felt that the sneaker was perfectly placed at #4 on the list because of its legacy, looks and low distribution, Chris Vidal seemed to think the Jordan Brand didn't put an emphasis on quality as it had done with previous retros. Check the video below of the #4 back-and-forth discussion, and stay tuned for the #3 video that drops tomorrow.
