Driving Myths Debunked Image via Wikipedia Commons / Requested Credit

You have to warm your car up before driving it.

You might want to do this because it's balls cold outside and you live in a really low-crime area, but it certainly won't hurt your car to just start it up and drive. That said, you should give the oil a minute or two of low intensity driving to redistribute around the engine before you start shifting late, redlining, and working every last pony out of the engine. But a calm trip to the store won't hurt anything.
