Tesla Motors founder and CEO Elon Musk is currently in Texas attempting to change a law that prevents Tesla from selling cars directly to customers. The law currently states that automakers can't do that, in order to pretect car dealers from being undercut. Tesla, however, doesn't like to do anything in the accepted fashion.
Now Musk is dangling this carrot in front of Texas' politicians: if Tesla is allowed to circumvent this law, he'll build electric trucks in Texas. We know that Texans love trucks, but we're really wondering how many truck-loving Texans are also electric car enthusiasts.
Only time will tell, but now that we're thinking about it, a truck with 100% torque available from 0 RPMs sounds pretty cool.
