Iconic Ferrari 250 GT Raced by Stirling Moss Becomes One of Most Expensive Cars Ever Sold in Britain

The iconic status of Stirling Moss in the UK may be equivalent only to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB that he raced to victory three times in 1960. Maintained in pristine condition, including the completely original engine and gearbox, the Ferrari recently sold for a reported £7 million (USD $11 million). What many have called "one of the most important Ferraris in existence," 250 GTO,built in 1960, sported a 3-litre V12 engine producing about 300bhp, with a 0-60mph time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 152mph. There is not yet any official statement stating the final price, but it is expected to have been one of the most expensive rides sold in Britain's history.
