BMW Is Considering a Front Wheel Drive Z2

When we heard that BMW is mulling over the idea of an entry level Z2 Roadster, we were hoping that it would be the luxury equivalent to the Scion FR-S. Sadly, the Z2 that's being considered is going to ride on BMW's front-wheel drive UKL platform, which makes it the luxury equivalent of a Mitsubishi Eclipse.

If the Z2 does get made, expect it to be smaller than the Z4, featuring a light-weight cloth-top, and powered by a range of engines that produce from 170 hp to 270 hp. A 300 hp Z2 M is also possible. If it is real, expect it to show up in 2015 right next to the infinitely cooler, Miata-based, Alfa Romeo Spyder.
