Ferrari Raises $1.5 Million for Hurricane Sandy Victims

Dropping $1.25 million on a car seems a bit outlandish, right? However, we've lusted after Ferrari's F12berlinetta enough to be a little envious of Larry Roth, who wrote a check well above the base price of $315k to land the first model to arrive on U.S. soil.

Roth bought the car last weekend in Austin, where the speed freaks of the auto world weren't just cheering F1 Drivers, they were raising money for Hurricane Sandy victims as well. Roth's purchase of the banner lot in Ferrari's charity auction helped push the total to $1.5 million. We can forgive ostentatious spending here and will just salute the cause on all fronts.
