Rick Leonardi and Jesse Delperdang's design was meant to simultaneously invoke memories of the first Batmobile, based on the Cord 812 -- as well as make readers visualize a bat when the car was seen from overhead. We see it, but we also see a Giger Alien head when looking forward from just in front of the windscreen.
