The 50 Best Cars of the Complex Decade

15. Porsche Carrera GT

Year: 2004
What it is: The perfect Porsche
Complex Says: Sure, the 911 is cool and all, but the rear-engined layout is inherently flawed. The Carrera GT, on the other hand, has that perfect mid-engined layout that some automotive journalists pine for when driving a 911. It wasn't just incredibly fast, it was incredibly good looking too.
The 911 has always, and will presumably always, looked almost exactly the same. The Carrera GT gave us a new, much more exotic and striking Porsche, and we've been pining for one ever since.
