The NHTSA Found Nothing Wrong with the Chevy Volt

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation into the Volt fires is officially over. The results show there is nothing wrong with Chevy's signature green vehicle.

"Based on the available data, NHTSA does not believe that Chevy Volts or other electric vehicles pose a greater risk of fire than gasoline-powered vehicles," explained the press release.

The reports also stated that the modifications that General Motors has made to "reduce the potential for battery intrusion" are adequate. Basically, they're saying that cars sometimes catch on fire, whether they have one of these batteries in them or not. Surprise, surprise.
