Complex Says: Back in 1976, cars weren't built the way they are today. And drivers didn't have as much protection as they do now, either. So while this crash isn't one of the most horrific ones on this list, it did almost end the life of Lauda, who was one of the best Formula One drivers on the circuit at the time.
