Director: Richard Donner
Stars: Gregory Peck, Lee Remick, Harvey Stephens
Married couple Robert (Gregory Peck) and Katherine Thorn (Lee Remick) seem to have the perfect life; wealthy and happy, the only thing they’re missing is a child. When Katherine gives birth to a stillborn child, a priest approaches Robert at the hospital, telling him to take a healthy child form the nursery whose mother has passed during childbirth. Robert obliges, without telling his wife.
The family moves to London, and strange things begin to happen. Animals begin to act bizarrely around their son Damien (Harvey Stephens), and people begin to die mysterious deaths who’ve come in contact with him. Robert then makes a dark discovery about his haunting child.
Still ominous, this film achieves old fashion horror without blood and guts.
