Director: Joss Whedon

In 2002, Joss Whedon's created-to-be-cult sci-fi western mash-up Firefly began and ended its television run. That single season of quality TV left fans craving more. Three years later, Whedon was able to oblige them with Serenity, the feature-length sequel to the series.

Picking up where the show left off, the film follows the captain and crew of Serenity, a transport spaceship. Fans of the show's cutting dialogue and goofy Wild West in Space atmosphere found everything they wanted in the film. Non-fans should brush up on the history of the show before diving in.
