In an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Andrew Garfield responded to Tom Holland’s claim that one of his Spider-Man: No Way Home co-stars wore a “fake ass.”

Garfield seemingly wasn’t aware that Holland shared the story, and has now suggested his co-star was simply trying to get more people to see the film—in his own, special way.

"He's just stirring the pot, old Tom, he can't help himself," said Garfield just after the 9:45 point of the interview above. "You know, there's an expression that we have in entertainment, which is, ‘We want to put bums on seats.' You know, we want to get the audience sat and paying their tickets."

He then said Holland knows how to get the audience’s attention, and implied it was a very interesting method to get people to pay even more attention. “Tom is pretty great at creating subgenres of games for you all, while you're in the cinema going, ‘Well, that butt doesn't look real. Tobey's looks like it might be real. Could Andrew have that much ass? Maybe, potentially,'" Garfield said.

Holland didn’t name any names when he alleged there was a fake behind on one of the three Spider-Men in MCU blockbuster, but Garfield clarified if there was, it wasn’t him. “All I know is that I am totally...unmodified, and that’s all I can share,” he said with a laugh. “I think Tom is very good at marketing.”

So was it Tobey Maguire, the eldest Spider-Man, with a fake ass? Or was it all just another elaborate ruse from Holland?

“I’m gonna give you a spoiler and I’m not gonna tell you who [it is], but one of us has a fake ass in their suit. You can figure that out for yourselves,” Holland told Meyers in February. “I remember being on set and being like, ‘Wow, hang on a minute. That’s not real!’”
