Nathan Fillion and Pete Davidson star in new episode of "The Rookie."

When Nathan Fillion announced on SiriusXM’s EW Live last month that Pete Davidson would guest star as his "pain in the ass" half-brother in the ABC series The Rookie,  we were already sold. Of course, if you're a fan of the 26-year-old comedian, you would be too.

If you weren't entirely sold, this new clip should do the trick. The scene finds Nathan's character John Nolan and his training officer Nyla Harper scoping out a vintage car with Davidson's character, who's also named Pete in the show.

Pete becomes incensed when Nolan tells him that the man who gave him the vehicle was "a real piece of crap." Pete responds to Nolan's remark by punching him in the face, and then revealing that he is Nolan's half-brother.

Davidson and Fillion will share the big screen next year as part of the murderer's row of a cast in the James Gunn-directed version of The Suicide Squad. The two met on the set, and bonded soon after, which led to Fillion helping orchestrate the idea of having Davidson come by for a guest spot.

"We had him come down and do an episode of The Rookie, he plays my half-brother," Fillion said. "My miscreant, ne’er do well half-brother. One’s a cop, one’s a pain in the ass — and now they’re half-brothers. It’s amazing,"
