James Gunn poses for screening of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"

On Tuesday, The Suicide Squad director James Gunn posted a holiday party photo of Task Force X on Instagram with toys representing each character in the cast of the upcoming film.

In the comments, Gunn was asked to predict what would happen in a fight between "The Child," commonly referred to as Baby Yoda, and Baby Groot. The director of both Guardians of the Galaxy films unsurprisingly picked Baby Groot, but described in graphic detail how his "baby" would be the victor.

"I only know Baby Yoda as a character in memes," Gunn said, per Comic Book. "He looks just like a baby but Yoda so I imagine Baby Groot would tear him into pieces."

While we could’ve foreseen Gunn going with Baby Groot, his opinion could be considered invalid since his knowledge of Baby Yoda is limited to memes. If he watched the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, he would know that—spoiler alert—the masked bounty hunter wouldn’t be alive if The Child didn’t use the Force and save him from the Mudhorn.

The extent of Baby Yoda's powers remain a mystery, but from what we have seen so far, we don't know how you don't give the edge to The Child. Instead of trying to determine which one would win in a fight, can we debate which one has the better fit.
