The Tiger Woods story could be heading to the small screen.

Just one month after Woods secured his fifth Masters win, Deadlinereports his 2018 biography will be turned into a scripted minseries. The project is currently in development and marks the first collaboration between Wheelhouse Entertainment and Jeff Benedict, co-author of the New York Times best-seller Tiger Woods. The book is based on more than 250 interviews with people who have known Woods in various capacities. It has been praised for its honest, in-depth look at the rise and fall of the golf legend.

The outlet reports the Woods series will be the first of many projects based on Benedict's intellectual property. In addition to Tiger Woods, co-written with Armen Keteyian, Benedict has penned titles like Pros and Cons: The Criminals Who Play in the NFL; Out of Bounds: Inside the NBA's Culture of Rape, Violence, and Crime; and The System: The Glory and Scandal of Big-Time College Football.

"[...] When I picked up Tiger Woods I saw what a true force Jeff really is—and a compelling way to bring the Tiger Woods story to life as one of the most moving in sports history," Wheelhouse CEO Brent Montgomery told Deadline. "IP is becoming more important than ever before and to partner with a writer of Jeff’s caliber – someone who nails perfectly the experience and emotion behind epic people and their stories – is a huge win for Wheelhouse. It’s an enormously rich pool from which to create exciting projects in and around sports, and other high-intensity environments. We are ecstatic to be in the Jeff Benedict business."

Benedict called the partnership a "dream," and said he was excited to see how this new business chapter will play out.
