The 27th season of Dancing With The Stars aired on TV on Monday night, with a pool of contestants that includes Tinashe.

For the season, Tinashe is partnered with professional dancer Brandon Armstrong. The pair danced the jive to Meghan Trainor’s “I’m A Lady” for the premiere, and received the highest score of the night. Other celebrities competing include DeMarcus Ware, Evanna Lynch, Mary Lou Retton, and more.

In April, Tinashe dropped her second studio album Joyride. Shortly after the project’s release, she was involved in a short lived romance with Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons, which only lasted “a few weeks,” according to Page Six. Their break up resulted in rumors of a love triangle involving herself, Simmons, and Kendall Jenner.

Following the split, Tinashe refocused on her music and released two singles, “Like I Used To” and “Throw A Fit,” which showed off a different side of the singer and indicated at a new direction for her moving forward.
