Featured Trailer of the Week: 'Uncle Drew' Will Take You on the Ultimate Summer Road Trip

Your favorite basketball-playing septuagenarian Uncle Drew is coming to the big screen.

What started out as a series of ads so funny you almost forgot they were ads, Uncle Drew the feature film is about to hit theaters as this summer’s road-trip comedy. The film’s cast includes NBA legends Shaquille O’Neal, Reggie Miller, and Nate Robinson, and stars comedians Lil Rey Howery, Nick Kroll, and Tiffany Haddish. And of course, NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving is back as Uncle Drew himself, the septuagenarian dedicated to showing up younger players on the court.

The premise of the movie? Dax (Lil Rel Howery) has drained his life savings to enter a team in Harlem’s Rucker Classic streetball tournament. When a series of setbacks leads to him losing his team to his rival, played by Kroll, Uncle Drew comes to Dax’s rescue. The two embark on a journey to reunite Drew’s old basketball squad, who are anything but your average group of 70-year-olds. Together, they prove they can still ball on the court where basketball icons like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Rafer Alston, and Kemba Walker all got their starts.

Pepsi’s Uncle Drew series went viral not long after its debut in 2012 and was so popular that Uncle Drew became Kyrie Irving’s alter ego. Six years later, you’ll be able to see Drew take his talents to the big screen. Don’t miss the Uncle Drew movie, which hits theaters this Friday, June 29.
