Kris Jenner stopped by The Ellen Show today to discuss Kanye West’s recent controversial remarks, Khloe Kardashian giving birth, and Tristan Thompson’s infidelity.
Ellen Degeneres did not beat around the bush when it came to Kanye, asking straight up, “What’s going on? Is he ok?” Ever the poised and controlled matriarch of the Kardashians, Jenner responded with clarity, kindness, and a general non-answer that didn’t tell us too much while still revealing enough about Kanye's motivations.
“Kanye has a lot of love for you all, all of his fans, and everybody who’s been there to support him, forever,” said Jenner. “And I think that anything he does—and I think this is important to say—he always does things with really good intentions. So I’m gonna let him explain himself when the time is ready and I just keep rollin’ on, trying to keep up—with the Kardashians.”
Jenner also discussed the intricacies of filming the show, and explained that while there is an overall schedule and plan regarding what’s depicted, Keeping Up With The Kardashians is largely organic and a big chunk of the events on screen are the result of random chance and the chaos of life. This, of course, brings us to the unexpected infidelity of Khloe Kardashian’s boyfriend and baby daddy, Cleveland Cavaliers’ Tristan Thompson.
When asked how Jenner responded to the news the that Thompson cheated on Khloe, Jenner kept her cool and explained that her family skips rage and goes straight to problem-solving mode.
“I think we do what we always do, and that’s spring into action with love,” she said. “And we all hopped on a plane and flew to Cleveland, ‘cause that’s what we know to do. I’m there to support my kids no matter what happens, and I just do the best I can, just like anybody else would for their family.”
In the end, Ellen grilled Jenner about the web of deceiving non-answers and misdirection she’s often forced to provide on talk shows, since she can’t reveal too much about the events of her family’s private lives due to the reality show they’re all part of.
“I pretty much lead a very confusing life,” she said. “I’m confused at all times. It’s a natural thing. So I just kind of mumble along and hopefully you’ll believe it. How about that?”
