Norman Reedus Says 'Walking Dead' Co-Star Andrew Lincoln Is a Chronic Face-Puncher on Set

Norman Reedus says Andrew Lincoln once punched Jeffrey Dean Morgan in the face.

Andrew Lincoln's character Rick Grimes may fear Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Negan in The Walking Dead, but in real life, it's the other way around.

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Norman Reedus, who plays Daryl Dixon, shared that Lincoln is known for punching actors in the face while filming the AMC series.

"The thing about Andy is he's got no coordination at all, whatsoever. Zero," explained Reedus. "So, Jeffrey Dean Morgan calls me and he goes, 'Tonight's gonna suck.' I'm like, 'Why?' He goes, 'Because I have the big fight scene with Andy. He's gonna punch me in the face. He's gonna drink a lot of coffee. He's gonna get super excited. He's gonna punch me in the face.'"

While Reedus first tried to reassure Morgan that it might not happen—he soon changed his tune when he got a call from Lincoln. "My other line rings and it's Andy going, 'Okay, so tonight, I'm getting ready, I'm gonna add a karate kick, and I'm gonna chop him and I'm gonna throw it, and I'm do all this stuff!'"

And it turns out that they were right. Later that night, Reedus received a text from Morgan with "a Band-Aid on his nose and an ice pack."

"Yeah, he punched him in the nose, fractured his nose," he said.

But this wasn't the first time Lincoln got punch-happy. Reedus said at another point Lincoln double-punched him when he was only supposed to tackle him. And worst of all, he often doesn't own up to his alleged punching ways. "The thing is, he does it, and then he completely denies that he did." (Aw, sometimes he does!) Well, if Negan dies in the next episode, at least Morgan's nose won't be subjected to getting punched again.
