Since releasing Iron Man 10 years ago, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has produced 18 superhero films to widespread critical and commercial success. As the premiere date of Avengers: Infinity War approaches, Marvel Studios has released a short featurette that looks back on the past decade.

The video opens with a clip of a Jon Favreau interview from three weeks before Iron Man came out. "It's a very interesting time now, and boy you don't know what's going to happen," the director says, unsure of how the MCU experiment would turn out at the time. "This could be anything from a flop to a moderate single, to something that's beyond where people's expectations are."

Of course, it all turned out to be a multi-billion dollar success. As the featurette comes to a close, the focus shifts from the past to the future as the studio looks to keep their momentum going after the release of Infinity War.

"I don't think this has ever happened before, in cinematic history, of all these different franchises colliding," says actress Elizabeth Olsen. "All these storylines that started such a long time ago have all woven together. As the films have progressed with Civil War, and now Infinity War, we're just going to continue to surprise people."

So, how long will we have to wait to see the full title of Avengers 4, which is due next year? According to director Joe Russo, it'll be quite a long time.

"It’s going to be quite a long while before people see that title," he recently told Yahoo! Movies. "We need people to see this movie, digest this movie, and then we can tell them what the next story is they’re going to see."

"It’s a complete story," he continued. "It’s got a beginning, middle, and an end and the next movie has a beginning, middle, and an end, in the same way that Civil War handed off to Infinity War and Infinity War will hand off to the next movie."
