The Marvel blockbuster that is Avengers: Infinity Waris already heading into its opening weekend on a strong note, pulling in $39 million from Thursday night showings alone. This already makes the film the fourth biggest preview total in history, Variety reports.

Currently, Infinity War is projected to bring in between $225 to $245 million by the end of the opening weekend, with the possibility of passing the $250 million mark. It would be one of only five films in history to make over $200 million in its opening weekend. The Joe and Anthony Russo directed film picks up two years after where Captain America: Civil War left off, and features a star-studded cast including Chadwick Boseman, Scarlett Johansson, and Robert Downey Jr.

With the film arriving less than three months after the colossal success of Black Panther, which is now the third largest-grossing domestic film of all time, it should go without saying that it will dominate the box office for weeks to come. Early reactions to the film's world premiere saw positive reviews, and the film's reported $300 million will be made back by the second or third week in theaters.

Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst with comScore, called Infinity War "an irresistible confection, a pure popcorn movie that boasts an unprecedented level of concentrated superhero star power," and isn't at all surprised by the film dominating the box office. He also added the film, "will deliver massive and enthusiastic crowds to multiplexes around the world and prove once again that the power and allure of the communal and immersive movie theater experience for which a film like this is tailor-made, remains undeniable."
