FOX is set to debut a never-before-seen interview with O.J. Simpson, where he describes a "hypothetical" situation in which he would have killed Nicole Brown Simpson, his ex-wife and mother of their two kids, as well as her friend, Ronald Goldman.
In a 12-year-old clip obtained by TMZ, Simpson sits down with Judith Regan, who reportedly worked with him on the 2007 book If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer.
"First of all, this is very difficult for me to do this," explains Simpson in the video. "It's very difficult for me 'cause it's hypothetical. I know and I accept the fact that people are gonna feel whatever way they're gonna feel. (Laughs) You know, they're gonna...whatever, whatever they want to feel."
Simpson went on to explain a situation of what "might have happened" on the fated night of June 12, 1994.
"In the book, the hypothetical is Charlie came by and mentioned something about what was going on at her house. This guy Charlie shows up, the guy who had recently become friends with her, and I dunno why he had been by Nicole’s house, but he told me 'You wouldn’t believe what’s going on over there.' And I remember thinking, 'Whatever’s going on there has got to stop,'" he said before the clip cuts off.
Simpson was famously tried for the murders and even more famously found not guilty. Over 10 years later, ghostwriter Pablo Fenjves wrote a book detailing how Simpson could be the murderer. Simpson's former manager, Norman Pardo, told HuffPost the book's publisher, ReganBooks, paid Simpson $600,000 to claim the book and speak about it in interviews. But according to an SFGate interview with Fenjves, the book is "based on extensive discussions with Simpson."
However, many still believe Simpson wrote the book himself. While FOX conducted this interview 12 years ago, there was outcry from the Nicole and Ron's family against it which caused Fox to can it. But now, viewers will get to see the unearthed interview soon.
O.J. Simpson: The Lost Confession? is set to air on March 11 at 8 p.m. EST. Check out the short clip from it above.
