Millie Bobby Brown Opens Up About Her Friendship With Drake

Brown gushed as she referred to Drake as one of the people guiding her.

After having a serious fan-girl moment over meeting rap superstar Drake last year, Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown opened up about the friendship that blossomed from that chance encounter.

Brown sat down with ExtraTV and explained the Drake she knows is slightly different from the public Champagne Papi we all know and love. "He's just a great person," she says, sharing their first meeting was when the rapper invited her to an Australian stop of his Boy Meets World Tour last year. "We met in Australia, and he asked me to go to his show, and it was probably the best live performance I've ever seen," she gushed. "You think he's like Drake like, 'I know when that Hotline Bling', but he's just Drake and he's great. I have great people around me guiding me through this and he's one of them."

The young star also shared her own words of guidance, responding to a question about the now viral video of her having her head shaved to play Eleven before the show's first season, something she's called empowering. Brown explained, "When I shaved my head, there was a lot of bullying going on toward me… It was a hard time for me, but when the show came out, everybody was like, 'Shaved head is cool!' — but [they] didn’t think that when it wasn’t out." She went on to affirm her decision and explain what it felt like to inspire others. "It felt so right to me that I had to do it for the young girls to make them feel okay to be different, and be weird."

Millie, along with the rest of the show's cast, is heading back to Atlanta soon to start filming Stranger Things season 3, which she thinks will be their "best season yet."
