Last year, we were all blessed with the release of the ridiculous “Inferno” music video (complete with a David Hasselhoff feature), sent straight from the set of Guardians of the Galaxy and into our hearts.
In an attempt to recreate that fuzzy feeling, the cast of the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War attempted to do the same and film a corny music video of their own. If the prospect of seeing literally every single Marvel superhero dancing away to some ‘80s hit, you might want to check yourself because the video is being barred from release, at least for now, because no one on the movie’s cast knew how to dance. Tragic, I know.
Anthony Mackie, who plays Falcon, mentioned the video at the MCM London Comic-Con and explained why he hopes the video will never see the light of day.
"We had this idea of making a music video, of this song," Mackie said. "And we shot half of it, and then people realized how bad they were at dancing, and we couldn't get anyone else to dance."
There was one person who stands out in Mackie’s memory for being the most ridiculous dancer: Mark Ruffalo, also known as the Hulk.
"Mark Ruffalo dancing is a spectacle that everyone should behold once in their life," Anthony said. "Once! You never wanna see it twice.
"So that was probably [the funniest moment] – Mark Ruffalo, with polka dots and a skintight suit on, dancing. Awful,” Mackie added, referencing the skintight motion-capture suit that Ruffalo likely has to wear so that the body of the Hulk can be CGI’d in post-production.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released on May 4, and it is being set up as the biggest superhero movie of all time. It’s the first part of a two-part movie that will introduce the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s newest and most dangerous villain, Thanos, and how every single superhero must come together to help defeat him. It’s been 10 years since the Marvel Cinematic Universe first began being developed on the big screen, and as a result directors Joe and Anthony Russo will have a reported 67-list of superheroes to work with, so this is surely a movie not to miss.
