Watch a New Clip From Nicolas Cage’s Horror-Comedy 'Mom and Dad'

Another clip has surfaced from Nic Cage's new horror-comedy 'Mom and Dad.'

Nicolas Cage has developed a knack for choosing to star in some of the most absurd films in existence over the past few years of his acting career, so much so that the Oscar-winner has reached Hall of Fame caliber internet meme status in the process. His latest film Mom and Dad is no different and after the official trailer was launched a few weeks ago, Entertainment Weekly has now released another exclusive clip from the film.

In this upcoming horror-comedy, Cage and his co-star wife Selma Blair play parents in a suburban community where all of the parents suddenly seem to have the desire to murder their children. Yup, you read that right. This is a movie about parents attempting to murder their kids. It's obviously over the top, perfect for Cage's patented off the wall acting style.

This new clip seems to be one of the more somber scenes from the movie. It shows Cage and Blair sitting in a dark basement reflecting on how becoming parents was not what they imagined it would be like. It's definitely a weird exchange but it sticks out as a lot more calm compared to the insane trailer that included hoards of parents running after their kids like zombies, Cage running around screaming like a rabid mad man, and even him singing "The Hokey Pokey" while smashing something with a sledgehammer (an especially noteworthy highlight).

Mom and Dad is written and directed by Brian Taylor who has previously worked with Cage on 2011's Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeanceas well as the Crank movies starring Jason Staham and SYFY's Happy! series.

The Momentum Pictures film will be releasing in theaters on Jan. 19.
