After President Trump allegedly called Haiti a "shithole country," Conan O'Brien decided to jet set to the island to see the country for himself. While there, he gave Haitians a chance to share their thoughts on Trump in a preview of the segment, #HaitiConan, shown in the video above.
"Mr. Trump, please visit Haiti. Because every time you leave your country, you make America great again," said one Haitian citizen in kreyol. "If we are poor, it is because we are all graduates of Trump University," said another, citing Trump's many failed schools.
One woman claims to know why President Trump, who analysts say speaks at a fourth-grade level, doesn't want Haitians coming into the USA. "I know why President Trump doesn't like Haiti," she said. "We have books!" A fair point.
Another Haitian native hilariously had words for her president. "I want to send a message of love to the leader of America," she said. "Oprah, we love you."
He didn't just talk to Haitians, though. O'Brien also caught up with a Norwegian woman who's living in Haiti. In the aforementioned comments, Trump allegedly said that he'd prefer Norwegian immigrants rather than people from Haiti, El Salvador, and African countries. Well, this Norwegian woman said she wants to immigrate to the United States but she'll wait...until after 2020. Ouch.
