Forbes released their annual report of the top-grossing actors of the year, and Vin Diesel tops the list with $1.6 billion in global ticket sales.
This accomplishment is largely due to Diesel's starring role in the massively successful eighth installment of the Fast and the Furious franchise, Fate of the Furious. The film raked in $1.2 billion at the box office following its April release, adding to Diesel's totals for xXx: The Return of Xander.
In October, Diesel teased the return of Jordana Brewster and Justin Lin to future installments of the Fast and the Furious series.
Diesel's Fate of the Furious co-star Dwayne Johnson was a close second with $1.5 billion in global ticket sales. Johnson achieved this position despite the poor performance of Baywatch, which only pulled in $178 million, as well as the late-year release of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, which will continue to count towards 2018's totals.
Coming in third was Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, who grossed $1.4 billion.
All of these totals are higher than 2017's top-grossing actor, Scarlett Johansson, who totaled $1.2 billion in global ticket sales due in large part to the success of Captain America: Civil War.
