Born in 1923 in New York City, Marie started her career at the age of three performing under the name "Baby Rose Marie." At the age of 10, she appeared in her first feature film International House.

In 1961, Marie landed the role that would give her a new level of fame as comedy television writer Sally Rogers on the CBS sitcom The Dick Van Dyke Show. She further exhibited her comedic side during her appearances on Hollywood Squares.

People took to social media to say their condolences.

Ah, just read about Rose Marie. So sad. It was so lovely to have her here on Twitter, and in my TV as a little girl. Sharp, funny, sassy. A role model for little girls who didn't want to just be a man's piece of ass. Have fun in comedian heaven.
