Let's keep it a buck: while ultimately beautiful and dark, the Complex PC Consortium wasn't rockingwith 2015's Sicario like that. We were here for Emily Blunt finally being given that action film role, but the real star ended up being Benicio Del Toro. Meaning word of there being a sequel to Denis Villeneuve's film didn't have us excited—until the trailer hit today.

While it's hard to tell what the plot of this film is right now, Josh Brolin appears to have returned as Matt Graver, who handles special ops and has a direct line to del Toro's Alejandro Gillick, who is one of the illest men walking when it comes to murdering everything moving. Graver calls on Gillick to start a war "with everyone," allowing him to handle justice (or whatever we're calling what these special ops forces are doing) to anyone in their way...which basically means he gets to shoot the shit out of anyone he feels he needs to.

Truth be told, this feels like a better film. There's vibes of looking at who and what are the terrorists in these wars, and at some point, del Toro tells EW his character has to make "a decision and then the consequences will follow if he goes this way or the other way, so I would say that’s the difference for the character in this movie versus the Alejandro in Sicario."

Sicario 2: Soldado hits theaters on June 29, 2018. Check out the trailer up above.
