MTV, who recently relaunched TRL, has just announced another idea that finds them looking to the past to recreate success. The network took camera crews to the depths of Hell, colloquially known as Panama City Beach. The resulting footage has been cobbled together into something called Floribama Shore.

The new series comes from the same team that concocted Jersey Shore, which means everything or nothing depending on who you are. The first (and only?) eight-episode run is being promoted as a coming-of-age tale capturing the "thrill and angst of being young." Old school television watchers with a penchant for torturing themselves will be given a firsthand look at the Florida Panhandle life along the beach that stretches all the way to Alabama, a place that's consistently in direct competition with Florida in an effort to become designated the new depths of Hell.

For an idea of what to expect, here's a clip of cast member Nilsa lamenting the location of her shorts:

Floribama Shore stars Aimee Hall, Jeremiah Buoni, Codi Butts, Kortni Gilson, Kirk Medas, Candace Rice, Nilsa Prowant, and Gus Smyrnios. If none of this has deterred you, feel free to catch the premiere on an actual television Nov. 27.

As for that TRL revival, it doesn't sound like it's going well. The New York Times called the new TRL "less a coherent show than a series of loosely threaded distractions."
