Amber Rose: 'How the F**k is My Man Not a Savage Anymore?

Hey guys for Complex News, I'm Natasha Martinez. ///// Amber Rose held her third annual SlutWalk in Los Angeles over the weekend, and while she linked up with her usual crew of Black Chyna and Just Brittany, this year she had her her boyfriend 21 Savage join in on the cause. 21, being the forward thinking and supportive partner that he is, was not shy about attending the feminist walk and proudly carried his own sign that read: "I'm a hoe too". Because of it, he was roasted all over social media.  Amber Rose even ruined Kanye. I give it 2 months before 21 Savage starts wearing a dress. 21 savage. Please blink twice if you need some help. I appreciate the intent but I can't stop laughing at 21 Savage holding that "I'm A Hoe Too" sign   On Monday, both Amber and 21 had a message for the haters.  Whether or not you agree that Amber should have defended her man, you have to admit that the backlash 21 faced is the exact reason why the SlutWalk was created.  The walk was intended to promote gender equality and while Rose did not create the event, her participation in it has led to more exposure for the movement taking a stand against misogyny, slut-shaming, and the stigmas and double standards women face that men do not. It all started in 2011 when a police officer in Toronto told a crowd of college woman that if they wanted to avoid sexual assault, they shouldn't dress like sluts. The officer's comments sparked outrage with men and women across the country.  Amber decided to host her own SlutWalk in 2015 after researching the event and finding out what it stood for. She told Complex, that learning the reasons behind the walk was everything that she had ever been through or dealt with every single day, especially after her high profile relationships with Kanye West and Wiz Khalifa ended.  Now in her third year, Amber Rose released a statement saying, Hatred and judgement demolishes self-esteem; but love and acceptance rebuilds it. When people tear one another down for their choices on how to live their life or govern their body, it divides families and nations. It is my goal to shine a huge light on the unassuming, non-traditional gems of the world – the ones that have been shamed, abused and counted out-through this full weekend of education and empowerment.  From the looks of it, Amber Rose's third annual SlutWalk went off without a hitch. And even if her man was roasted for supporting her, they're the ones making a difference in the world while being in a happy relationship, and not on twitter complaining about this, that, and the other.  That's your news for now, for more of today's trending stories subscribe to Complex on YouTube.
