During a recent interview with The Daily Beast, actress Leah Remini (who's doing the Lord's work via her Scientology-busting TV series with A&E) claimed Jada Pinkett Smith was a Scientologist.

"I know Jada’s in," Remini declared. "I know Jada’s in. She’s been in Scientology a long time. I never saw Will [Smith] there, but I saw Jada at the Celebrity Centre. They opened up a Scientology school, and have since closed it. But Jada, I had seen her at the Scientology Celebrity Centre all the time." Most of this centered around rumors that, because Will Smith and Tom Cruise were good friends, Cruise would have made Smith convert to Scientology.

Knowing that Jada doesn't play, I was half-expecting Jada to dress Leah down by name, similar to how she spoke about Janet Hubert's comments, or how she opened up regarding the lies about her and 2Pac's relationship in All Eyez on Me.

While she didn't take it to that level, she did hop onto Twitter to tell the world that she is not, in fact, a Scientologist (or Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, or Buddhist).

I have studied Dianetics, and appreciate the merits of Study Tech… but I am not a Scientologist.
I practice human kindness, and I believe that we each have the right to determine what we are and what we are not.
NO ONE ELSE can hold that power.

While I have no clue what a "Study Tech" is, Jada's tweets sound similar to the talk of her and Will being more "spiritual," studying all kinds of religions, and echoes comments Will Smith made in 2008. "You don't have to be a Scientologist to be a friend of Tom Cruise," Smith said. "I am a Christian. I am a student of all religions. And I respect all people and all paths."

Jada's also had to shut down rumors of her and Will being swingers, but hopefully we just get to see her churn out more quality work like the surprise summer hit Girls Trip.
