Aziz Ansari Reminds Everyone He Owns a Truly Incredible Painting of Soulja Boy

We all need one of these paintings, honestly.

How many paintings of Soulja Boy staring pensively out of a window do you have in your apartment? At the time of this writing, Aziz Ansari has at least one. In a must-read new interview with GQ Style, the Master of None star and co-creator revealed the painting stands as his "favorite" unsolicited gift. As the interview admittedly doesn't solely focus on the Soulja Boy painting, Ansari also discusses other topics of interest with writer Mark Anthony Green.

But first, that Soulja Boy painting:

My favorite thing anyone ever gave me unsolicited was one time I did a show at the Largo in Los Angeles and this woman gave me a painting of Soulja Boy. And I still have it. It's Soulja Boy just kind of looking out the window. It's incredible. What fragrance are you wearing?

Is he talking about this painting of Soulja Boy?

For the record, Green was wearing Tom Ford Oud Wood at the time.

Speaking of things that are probably a good idea, Ansari later expounded on his decision to keep his phone largely internet-free. "It's just about seeing a new thing," he explained. "You get addicted to that feeling. You're not going to be able to control yourself. So the only way to fight that is to take yourself out of the equation and remove all these things. What happens is, eventually you forget about it. You don't care anymore." Instead, Ansari added, he's been reading a lot of books.

Asked by Green if he's a "religious person," Ansari admitted he doesn't really have a firm answer. "I think you either rot in the ground or maybe find out life is a simulation," he said. "Who knows? I don't think about things like that. To me there's no point." For Ansari, the more enjoyable option is the simulation speculation.

Ansari also talked about the best advice he's received recently, the importance of cologne technique, Starburst, balls, shrooms, being single, and why he's in no rush to dive into more Master of None. As you can see, the whole thing is very much worth your time and can be viewed in full right here.
