Nothing says exciting more than an action-packed monster film, and Kong: Skull Island has everything you need, and more. The 2017 flick is the second addition to Legendary’s Monsterverse and a modernized interpretation of the epic King Kong franchise.
Kong: Skull Island follows an expedition led by William “Bill” Randa (John Goodman), who is accompanied by former British Special Air Service Captain James Conrad (Tom Hiddleston), photojournalist Mason Weaver (Brie Larson) and a military escort named Sky Devils led by Lieutenant Colonel Preston Packard (Samuel L. Jackson). The team embarks on a mission to map out a South Pacific island known as “Skull Island,” although each team member has his or her own hidden agenda for the mission.
The expedition goes awry as the team’s aircraft is attacked by the island’s protector, Kong, and leaves the crew scattered across Skull Island. The film follows the displaced team’s struggle to escape Skull Island, while facing other monstrous inhabitants, and Kong, himself.
Kong: Skull Island is director Jordan Vogt-Roberts’ third feature film and the seventh highest grossing film of 2017. With expected sequels from the Monsterverse world, we can’t wait to see what comes next…
