Are we ready for the Drake comedy renaissance? If not, why not? No, seriously, I'm asking. Sure, all Americans initially knew of Drake the Actor was Wheelchair Jimmy from Degrassi, but in case you've been sleeping, Drake's been highlighting his comedic prowess over the last few years. There's a reason why he's murdered the Saturday Night Live stage. Twice.

One has to imagine if Drake even knew his comedic timing would emerge this way. Was he trying to be more of a serious dramatic actor early into his career? Probably. There's something about his thirsty charm that, when you add it with selling a zillion records and being the Boy for music-loving millennials, it's as if Drake's finally understanding the joke and is willing to roll with the darts. It's a dope attribute to have for an entertainer who's more than likely not going anywhere anytime soon.

With the hilarity of last night's NBA Awards sketches still in our heads, here's a look at five times Drake proved he should be hosting some kind of variety show. Might need to get Lorne on the horn.

Drake re-lives his Bar Mitzvah

During his 2014 Saturday Night Live monologue, Drake recreated his 1999 Bar Mitzvah. While jokes like "Drakeob" were a little flat, it was dope to see Drake really get into it, especially when he grabs the mic to speak on how he blends his black and Jewish sides. It's one of those things that only Drake could pull off, and only a rapper like Drake would have the stones to do... and do well.

Drake becomes Manny Pacquiao

Later that year, Drake hosted the ESPYs, and one of the sketches was a spoof of Manny Pacquiao as a singer. We're talking Drake, as Manny, singing the smash hit from Frozen, "Let It Go." It's pretty damn magical. No, seriously.

Drake beefs with the Saturday Night Live cast

When Drake returned to Saturday Night Live in 2016, one of the sketches was a play on Drake clapping at any rapper moving, turning any internal hatred towards the cast at SNL into a few bars over "Back to Back." Most of the bars didn't hit like the original song, but it was more his facial expressions and the absurdity of penning a whole entire diss over not saying, "Hi." Truth be told, Drake goes a little hard on Lorne Michaels, but I guess Drake can get that off.

Drake reps Canada on 'Black Jeopardy!'

With all of the talk about how Drake's Canada and all of the "tings" that go down up there work, Drake donning a bunch of locks for this Black Jeopardy! sketch was perfect. Also, +1 for whoever wrote the Kardinal Offishall reference.

Drake drops a solid Get Out parody

Drake as Steph Curry watching Belly in a Get Out spoof? Trust, no one can do it better.

Truth be told, Drake might need to hold off on whatever music he's working on and get this Hollywood variety show money. Literally no one else can do what he can do right now... well, except for Maya Rudolph. Maybe that's where NBC messed up; instead of Maya & Marty, it should've been Maya & Drake! Hey NBC, just @ me for some residuals or something.
