Director: Adrian Grunberg
Stars: Mel Gibson, Kevin Hernandez, Daniel Gimenez Cacho, Dolores Heredia, Peter Stormare, Dean Norris
It's a shame that Mel Gibson's new unofficial nickname is "Box Office Poison" (OK, so that's just what we call him in our offices). After his highly publicized rants against women and Jewish people, the once-bankable action star is now a Hollywood pariah of sorts, something that Get the Gringo director Adrian Grunberg must be really salty about.
Had it been released, say, six or seven years ago, Get the Gringo could've easily been a box office triumph, powered by Gibson's spot-on turn as a honky fighting—and blasting—his way out of a Mexican prison. It's by far the most badass Gibson-starring movie since 2000's The Patriot. At least he's not "All-Around Film Poison."
