Long gone are the days of choking down live crickets and cockroaches on Fear Factor. In 2017, entomophagy—or the practice of eating insects—is seen as an increasingly legitimate answer to global food scarcity, as well as a potentially tasty addition to haute cuisine.
That said, the business of eating bugs still needs a few brave souls to breakdown the barriers. Luckily, First We Feast’s Sean Evans and the seminal rock band Papa Roach are here to stand on the front lines.
No, we didn’t make Jacoby Shaddix eat a roach. But with the help of Bugible’s Aly Moore, we did get Paul Ryan’s favorite band to taste a fine selection of grasshoppers, june bugs, and scorpions.
