The long-awaited Wonder Woman movie is just about ready to debut, and fans will finally get to see the heroine in a leading role this June. Gal Gadot will reprise her role as the titular character after playing Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016, and the latest trailer for Wonder Woman reveals more of the origin story for the Amazonian princess.
Wonder Woman's presence in the public consciousness is usually relegated to the time she spends on Earth, defending innocent people in her iconic red, white and blue supersuit. DC's latest comic-book venture wants to expand what we know about the character, and it looks like we'll be getting an extended look at Wonder Woman's childhood, as well as how she came to inhabit her spot as a member of the Justice League.
Social media is buzzing about the new preview, which features Gadot handing out beatings to more than a few bad guys:
Initial hype won't matter if the final product is recycle bin worthy, but consider us intrigued by what we know so far about the upcoming flick. Gadot was one of the best parts of the otherwise disjointed Dawn of Justice, and it'll be exciting to let the Wonder Woman character grow over the course of a full movie.
