It’s easy to forget that before the memes, before the boxing, and way before he was elected the 23rd Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau was once a child. Sure, he may have been the son of former Canadian leader, Pierre Elliott Trudeau, but that doesn’t mean young Justin was safe from the trials and tribulations of elementary school. Despite now having a body fit enough to pull off, well, whatever this yoga move is, Justin used to be a regular kid. That means he had to learn how to ride a bike, play hockey, and unfortunately fend off the occasional bully. In fact, it sounds like JT had a bit of a bully issue all the way back in the 5th grade. And who was the big meanie to pick on the future Prime Minister? None other than Friends star, and fellow Canadian, Matthew Perry.

Chandler himself visited the set of Jimmy Kimmel Live! to tell the old tale. Judging from his take on the incident, it was a time that Perry isn't particularly proud of. “It was pure jealousy”, remarked the funnyman. “I think he was the only kid in school we could beat up.” While he regrets the whole event entirely, the Ottawa native joked that he heard Trudeau say, “I’m going to rise above this and I’m going to become Prime Minister.” Regardless of the validity of the statement, it sure sound like no one told the young boy that life was going to be this way.
