Well, we've been waiting for this day for the last two months; you think we're joking? Vin Diesel made sure that he let us know back in September that the trailer for Fast 8—excuse me, The Fate of the Furiouswould be out today. After a week that's featured trailers for a number of 2017 movies (including Spider-Man: HomecomingWar for the Planet of the ApesThe Mummy, and another Rock presentation in Baywatch), of COURSE we're getting the first official trailer for the film that could end up setting off the 2017 blockbuster film season off early and properly.

Dropping a short two years after the release of Furious 7Fast 8 The Fate of the Furious (will we ever get used to this title? Can we just call it F8te?) is coming 'round off what appeared to be some legit beef between The Rock and Vin Diesel (although this could just end up being a big kayfabe battle that'll end in some big schmoz during WrestleMania 33). Joining the rowdy crew (which includes Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris, among others) is Charlize Theron, who's getting her villain on. The whole shebang will be helmed by F. Gary Gray, of FridayStraight Outta Compton, and The Italian Job fame.

Judging by that teaser that hit the internet on FridayF8 (I'm running with that, I promise) is set to pack a wallop the size of Furious 7 and some of the previous Fast films. Here's a look at what's in store for the next installment of the box office-destroying series:

"Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game—and the rest of the crew has been exonerated—the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Oscar® winner Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can’t seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before.

From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world’s stage…and to bring home the man who made them a family."

Watch the official trailer above, and look for F8 to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
