Corner Gas is being rebooted into an all new animated version to be broadcast on The Comedy Network

Corner Gas is coming back. The iconic Canadian sitcom that was set in Saskatchewan is being rebooted into an all-new animated version that will be broadcast on The Comedy Network.

Show producers announced in a news release that they're working on 13 episodes of an animated Corner Gas series that will feature the voices of Brent Butt and most of the cast from the live-action version, which ended its six-season run in 2009.

Returning actors include Gabrielle Miller (Lacey), Eric Peterson (Oscar), Fred Ewanuick (Hank), Lorne Cardinal (Davis) and Tara Spencer-Nairn (Karen). Janet Wright, who played Emma in the sitcom and the 2014 movie, died last month. Casting is underway for a new Emma.

The animated series is set to run on the Comedy Network, starting in 2017-18.
